Available in 3 or 6 cup size.
The Chemex coffeemaker was designed in 1941 by a slightly mad inventor named Peter Schlumbohm.
The 6 cup will make a 500ml brew using 30-35g of coffee, which is 2 generous cups of coffee or tasters for about 5.
They are pretty simple to use:
- Place filter in the top
- Rinse filter with hot water, then discard water
- Add 30-35g ground coffee
- Bloom for 30-45 seconds with 60-70g water
- Slowly pour over remaining 430-440ml water
- Lift out used filter & put on the compost
- Swirl, pour & enjoy
