KOCHERE {natural}- filter roast ⚡️new crop⚡️

$9.50

cherry/apricot/blueberry

Roasted Wednesday 23rd September 2020

This coffee was processed at the Boji Washing Station in the Kochere District. The coffee is grown in the surrounding area by small-holder farmers in rich, fertile soils at very high altitudes. Coffee trees are planted amongst the family's food crops.

During harvest, cherries are selectively hand-picked before being taken to the washing station. There they are sorted for over or under-ripe cherries then placed on raised beds to dry. The  dried cherry is then mechanically removed.

This lot is Ethiopia Landrace. Ethiopia has many thousands of indigenous coffee varieties, we've seen figures of between 6-10000. Some of these have names, there are indeed cultivars {Bourbon, 74110} & hybrid coffees {Ababuna} available. Ethiopian Landrace are coffees that have come from the coffee forests, these are domesticated, locally adapted traditional varieties.
