Gatomboya is one of four coffee factories owned by members of the Barichu Farmers Cooperative Society. During harvest, around 950 farmers deliver cherries daily to Gatomboya. At the washing station the cherries are floated in water channels & had-sorted to remove defects, de-pulped, dry-fermented overnight, washed & then spread out to dry on raised beds for 10-12 days.
