July is a second-generation coffee farmer. The family farm, Finca Yum y Boss is located in Sozoranga, Loja high in the Andes Mountains. The farm was originally planted with Typica but in an effort to revitalise the farm, high quality Sidra seeds were sourced from Pichincha in North-West Ecuador, these were germinated & planted on the farm. The coffee was processed using a washed double fermented process, after harvesting the cherries are washed & sorted to remove defects, dry fermented, de-pulped, wet-fermented, washed & then dried on raised beds in a parabolic dryer.

This lot is 100% Sidra—very little is known about this varietal. It originated in Pichincha, Ecuador. It has only been commercially grown since 2012. It is thought that Sidra may have been bred by a now defunct Nestle breeding centre in Ecuador but never released. DNA testing shows some Ethiopian Landrace, Bourbon & Typica parentage.
