This washed Maragogype is great, hard to roast but easy to drink. It’s aromatic with flavours of ripe green grape, pear & mango.

This lot was produced by the Medina Family at their farm Hacienda Montecristo. The farm is located in the Mayan Mountains in Santa Rosa de Copan, Veracruz, very close to the border with Guatemala. The Medina family have grown coffee here for five generations, since 1916.
This coffee was wet processed, after harvesting, the cherries were sorted, de-pulped, fermented, washed & then dried in a parabolic dryer.

Maragogype is a mutation of Typica, discovered in Bahia, Northeastern Brasil in 1870. The plant is large with large leaves & cherries, which lead to a large seed/bean size. Quality is good but Maragogype has low productivity. It is a parent of Pacamara, Maracaturra & Marageisha.
