About the farmer(s)
Milton Torres - Caturra [washed]
— Peru
Milton only started planting coffee at Los Robles [named after 3 large oak trees in the middle of the farm] in 2020. The farm is in the Andes overlooking the small town of Los Cajones, Cajamarca. Milton has many shade & fruit trees on the farm & also has an apiary on the land, both for honey production & to assist with pollination. This Caturra lot was processed by the washed method. After harvesting, coffee cherries are sorted to remove defects & foreign objects, sticks, leaves etc, they are then de-pulped, dry fermented, washed & then dried on raised beds.

This lot is 100% Caturra, a mutation of Bourbon discovered in Brasil in 1937. The plant is a dwarf so it can be planted close together resulting in more production per hectare. Caturra has good flavour characteristics but is susceptible to disease.
