About the farmer(s)

Walida S795, Kartika [anaerobic natural] — Java

This coffee is grown is grown in the village of Tiogosari on the slopes of Mount Argopuro located in East Java. The growers belong to the Walida cooperative which is led by Ahmad Muhlisin. Ahmad was dismayed by the lack of education in the area so he formed the coffee cooperative which funds the local school. The coffee here is all processed naturally due to the lack of .a consistent water supply. This lot was processed using the anaerobic natural method. Once harvested the coffee cherries are sorted to remove defects, placed in oxygen free tanks to ferment & then dried on raised beds. This process adds very ripe fruit & funk favours & aroma.
